TruMoo Chocolate Milk Review (Review)

This is the first review of my series of chocolate milk reviews. All of these reviews will take place shortly after one of my runs. This review will be over TruMoo whole chocolate milk. TruMoo has always been my chocolate milk of choice. I think it is fantastic. It doesn’t have the bitter taste that some chocolate milk has. It is very creamy, so I do not suggest drinking this if you are out of breath and need a drink to go down as easily as possible. I would do your post-run stretching before indulging in a glass of this chocolate milk.
I think the creaminess factor is great. It is not extremely creamy, but it has a nice thickness that you would not get from chocolate milks with less fat content. Also, it is well-blended, so you do not have that awful experience of taking a mouthful of chocolate powder when you take the last gulp.
The one negative is that the creaminess comes with a higher fat content. This is not such a bad thing if you can spare the calories, but if you are not burning a lot of fat, this could be counterproductive to the weight-loss aspect of running. There are however low-fat or fat-free choices that offer 9-13% less fat.
The nutrition benefit from TruMoo whole chocolate milk is that it is a good source of: Vitamin A, Calcium, Vitamin B12, Riboflavin, and Phosphorus.
A gallon of TruMoo whole chocolate milk will cost around $5.00. This is slightly higher than most brands, as TruMoo is one of the most popular brands of chocolate milk.
I would give this chocolate milk an overall rating of 4 ½ out of 5 stars, losing a half of a star for the high-fat content and price.
